The Cruinn Process

Here at Cruinn, our goal is to make each recruitment process, as smooth and as simple as possible whilst gaining a trusted client along the way.

We wanted to share how we approach a brief, to give you insight into the care and attention to detail we use when taking up a recruitment journey with you.

Before a Brief
In the lead up to procuring a brief, it is fundamental for us to develop a relationship from the get-go. Although our passion is recruitment, we regard communication, connections and trust to be at the forefront of everything we do. This is why we make it essential to formulate an understanding of each other before a brief is advocated. This is comprised of everything from understanding their values and priorities to the deeper roots such as their aspirations and desires not only for their business but for their future. This is to get a feel for how their business flows and at the same time assessing how a partnership between us could form.

“I need to be able to paint a full picture for those who are considering the role and this involves me having a full understanding of the business, the main stakeholders and what they want to achieve.” – Claire Gillespie, Director

Pre-brief process
Our pre-brief process involves us taking a step back and observing the entire business and industry as if it were under a microscope. We reflect on how our client sits within the market and we adopt an external perspective. Whilst it is vital we understand our clients’ functions, it is equally important for us to understand public perception and how they are perceived in a wider market.

Achieving a good balance of the two, sets us up to be able to tailor the brief-taking process down to a T.

Dealing with a client during the process
There is no one way we deal with a client. Our processes vary and are unique to each and every client. We approach each process with a fresh and clear mind to be able to adapt and change in line with our clients’ requests.

However, one process is the same for every client. Collaboration. We strive to align ourselves with our clients’ views during the process and aim to collaborate exclusively to achieve top results. This is achieved by viewing ourselves as an extension of their business, working in sync to achieve one goal and being able to be completely transparent.

We work around our clients’ and their priorities but as a minimum we update both client and candidate weekly, to make sure there is a mutual understanding and tracking of the recruitment journey, however, this can vary as some clients like to review candidates together and some hand complete control of the process to us. Whatever path we take, we ensure that our values of honesty, commitment and transparency are maintained at each step of the way.

Post-Recruitment process
We like to say that our ‘duty of care’ is never-ending. Although to some, recruitment may seem purely transactional, here at Cruinn, the recruitment process is not just business, it is the gaining of a new connection and friend and another building block of trust between us and client. So, it is with this in mind that we regularly manage and check-up on both client and candidate post-recruitment to ensure that the move and process has been a success for all involved.

It is around this time that we also ask for feedback. This is incredibly important to us, as we are a growing and developing company that is allowed to grow and expand through the feedback we receive, whether that be positive or negative. This is where transparency comes back into play and why the

pre-recruitment step of developing of trust is essential in allowing both parties to share their honest feedback with each other to allow for organic growth.

Through the sharing of feedback and continuing to build trust, we can develop a platform that our clients see us as a valued advisor and never become complacent. We now understand more than ever that honesty and integrity are what everyone holds in high regard and in order to achieve a long-term contract of friendship, this feedback must be taken into account and acted upon.

We hope by sharing our approach and process, we are able to give you an insight into how we put our values and ideals into play and deal with both client and candidate at each step of the journey.

If the way we handle the recruitment journey interests you, we would love to collaborate with you on a future project!
